Weaving Techniques

Kadhua Weaving

Kadhua is a highly skilled handloom weaving technique where motifs are woven individually rather than being repeated across the fabric. It is a locked weaving technique where complex designs and patterns can be implemented using this technique.

Kadiyal Weaving

The traditional Kadiyal technique involves changes in the warp and weft to weave the borders and aanchal in colours that are different from the body. This creates a contrasting colour band giving the saree a more vibrant look.

Cutwork Weaving

Cutwork weaving is a more affordable alternative to Kadhua, where extra threads are cut away to reveal the design. This technique allows for intricate patterns while keeping the fabric lightweight and breathable. It is widely used in contemporary Benarasi fabrics, suits, and dupattas, making it a preferred choice for those looking for elegance without the heaviness of traditional weaves.

Tanchoi Weaving

Tanchoi weaving is a unique technique that involves a single or double warp, where extra threads are used to create intricate patterns. This method is known for its smooth texture and the absence of float threads on the reverse side, making the fabric softer and more refined.

 Meenakari Weaving

Meenakari weaving is characterized by the use of multiple colored resham or zari threads to create multicolored motifs. This technique adds vibrancy and depth to Benarasi sarees, dupattas, and dress materials. The intricate and colorful detailing makes Meenakari fabrics highly sought after for festive and bridal wear.
